ABOUT THE NP149 Transfercase:
This unit has a viscous coupler which needs to have your tires all the same size, pressure and manufacturer in order for it to perform properly. Mismatched tires are the notorious cause of 149 transfercase being destroyed. Our 149 transfercase includes a viscous coupler that is NOT used but remanufactured. The original rear case half on 149 transfercase has a design issue where the oil pump rubs against the case causing pin-holes in the soft thin magnesium shell. These pin-holes allow the fluid to seep out and evaporate, leaving the transfer case without proper lubrication and cooling. This happens so gradually that you probably don't realize it until there has been sufficient damage done to the internal mechanisms. This is referred to as "

VERIFYING THE MODEL
Before shipping, we will need the assembly number from your transfer case to verify that this part fits your vehicle. You can find the assembly number on the sticker located on the bottom of your transfer case (see below). If this information is not available, we will need the FULL VIN# of the vehicle to verify.
SHIPPING & CORE EXCHANGE
This unit requires a core exchange and your purchase includes a reusable shipping container and a UPS return service label. If we do not receive the core and the container within 14 days of delivery, you will be charged a core charge of $450.00 plus a shipping container charge of $150.00 and your warranty will be voided.
Just be sure to call us and we can help you get that core back to Transfer Case Express 1-800-MUDROAD. There is a return service label provided in the box that we ship to you.
This transfer case comes with a one year unlimited mileage warranty within the contiguous United States. We will need the Assembly # on your transfer case for an exact match. You can find the Assembly # on the tag located on the bottom of your transfer case. If this information is not available, we will need the FULL VIN# of the vehicle to verify.
